MEET THE CHEF
MY STORY
My name is Fernando Rodriguez, Jr. (Please call me Fern!) I am the business owner and head chef at Fern’s Family Table. I am happily married to my beautiful wife, Yani, and father to three strong and healthy adult sons, and best of all Papa to my rambunctious grandson! They are the true inspiration for Fern's Family Table where I took the step of faith with God by our side.
After over 20 years of experience with corporate restaurants, from a cook to kitchen manager, I've never forgotten my heart's desire to have my own business somehow. Truthfully, I've had a very tough life and to sum it up, God saved me. There were some very dark moments, including healing me from cancer, as He was preparing me for my heart’s desire (Psalm 20:4). It was not until 2022 that I had a true experience with God, and he opened my eyes. God was preparing me to step out in faith and leave my current position to begin my catering company. The second I said "YES!" to God, He went to work. I am living the James: 2:14-17 scripture through my business- if there is a need, we are to ignite our faith producing good deeds! As I walked boldly accepting God's calling for me, I clearly saw, for the first time, the blessing God has gifted me through preparing and cooking meals with pure love. Then, sitting together, at that special table was a family - my own family enjoying the fruits of my labor. This is how Fern’s Family Table was born.
